I launched @theblacksheeponline in January of 2017. Within five weeks I had developed a following of 1,500+ and produced, scheduled and published a variety of posts (Videos, Memes, Follower Features, and Article(s) of the Week) on a daily basis. I also created content for The Black Sheep's Instagram Story, viewed on average by 400+ followers. By week six, I had successfully created a channel to drive traffic to The Black Sheep's website and Facebook page. Seizing the opportunity, I monetized the app, promoting The Black Sheep's merchandise and driving sales, tracked by an Instagram specific coupon code.
I began managing @thedepaulia in January of 2016. Since then, I have given the account a total makeover. The account has gained over 2000+ followers and I have created a specific voice with a variety of high quality posts that reflect the interests of our followers. After becoming the Business Manager of The DePaulia in January of 2017, in addition to being the Online Editor, I found a way to monetize this platform (and all of The DePaulia's social media). A focus group held in June of 2016 noted @thedepaulia as the most successful, well known and unique account of all The DePaulia's social media.
At Housetrends Magazine clients of all professions, sizes and advertising needs seek to market their products or services in our magazines around the country and our social media platforms. So, my goal was to promote their content on a @housetrends platform: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Houzz or Pinterest based on their digital presence meanwhile staying true to the brand. I also developed a system to log published posts and send each client details of exactly what was posted, when and where.
Active social media is essential to every nonprofit in order to gain exposure and grow their organization. As a volunteer at I Paint My Mind I took an approach based on their needs. I created content and a lot of it after getting to know the organization's brand thoroughly. Not old did I create content and graphics but I made sure we were utilizing resources and media we already had to create tons of posts. After creating content en masse, I used scheduling services and set reminders for posting on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linked In. With lots of posts going out it was also important to be active, commenting, liking, sharing etc. to develop a relationship with our followers.
